Patient Forms (may be emailed to you before your appointment)
Upon entering our office, Jane or Karen will welcome you and will request that you complete our new patient form unless it has been emailed to you along with a 4 minute introduction video. This paperwork and video provides us with your health history and information on your condition and gives you an indication on what to expect from our clinic.
Next, you will have an examination. Your initial visit is designed for Francois our Chiropractor to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals. Francois will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your range of motion, flexibility and normally perform a photographic postural assessment. Other standard neurological, orthopaedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well according to need. You may receive your first Adjustment on the first visit if Francois feels that you are in the right place to be helped.
Depending on your specific condition, we may also refer you to have some X-rays taken. X-rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
Your 2nd Visit
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Francois will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- What will be the cost of my treatment?
At the conclusion of this appointment, you can choose to experience your first adjustment (treatment). This may include spinal adjustments, specific postural active exercise or electronic muscle stimulation. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.
Massage Therapy and Reflexology
History shows the Ancient Egyptians made references to the benefits of massage but the Chinese were the first to recognise its healing benefits around 3,000 BC.
This holistic therapy involves applying a combination of techniques and skills to the muscles and soft tissues of the body to enhance their function. This therapy works on both a physical and psychological level therefore offering many positive benefits some of which are relieving muscular pain and tension, enhancing relaxation and well being, improving the circulatory system, enhancing the appearance of the skin, preventing injury, improving flexibility and reducing stress and anxiety.
Each treatment is personally tailored to address individual requirements. Treatments are based on Swedish massage techniques, incorporating deep tissue, sports and aromatherapy skills.
Treatments can be incorporated into a healthy life style (a useful tool in stress management) or to treat specific problems. The effects of massage are cumulative therefore regular treatments are beneficial. Treatments are 30 or 60 minutes.
Reflexology is a safe, natural therapy suitable for all ages. It can help balance the systems of the body and encourage wellness. Gentle pressures are applied to reflex points found on the feet. A treatment can promote a deep state of relaxation and help stimulate the bodies own healing process. Its many benefits may include: improved circulation, reduced stress levels and removal of toxins and impurities. Treatments are 45 mins. A course of treatments is recommended.
